Lustre

2008 3rd place Regional Quartet

Fresh on the Harbor City Music Company's quartet scene is the newly-formed Lustre. After singing together for fun at every opportunity after chorus rehearsals, in restaurants, or even on street corners, these four finally made honest women of themselves in the spring of 2005. Lustre is thrilled with their success at the Sweet Adelines Int'l Region 19 Competition in April 2006, where they received the 2006 Novice Quartet Award. Though they have been together for only about a year, their rich blend of voices and tight harmonies often lead listeners to ask... how do you achieve such a great sound? The girls think the answer is a combination of factors: great songs with great harmonies sung by great friends makes great music!

Laura Rivera, Tenor, is in her first quartet with Lustre. She may be new to the quartet experience, but she's loving it! With Laura's tutoring the quartet hopes to sing in other languages some day as she is fluent in several. In Lustre, as in life, she adheres to the motto, "Smiling makes all the difference!"

Lori Crouter, Lead, is the dynamic voice singing the melody. Leading Lustre to win the 2006 Novice Quartet Award was truly second nature for Lori, as she also led her previous quartet to win the same award in 2004. Her beautiful voice is known throughout the region and is the signature of Lustre's luminous sound.

Lori Dreyer, Baritone, is a talented and diverse singer on many fronts. Her Sweet Adelines background is extensive, having sung Lead, Baritone, and most recently, Bass in barbershop quartets and choruses for over 13 years. Lori also can be found swinging to the beat as the alto voice in a five-part mixed a cappella jazz group, High Five.

Jenny Harris, Bass, is also new to the quartet experience and to barbershop singing in general. She is having a great time with Lustre, and is even willing to take "Laura" or "Lori" as a stage name if it will help create the perfect blend!
